Quicksilver Delivery Systems™ brings you a standardized, highly bioavailable form of cannabidiols (CBD), the non-psychogenic yet highly physiologically active compound derived from the hemp plant, Cannabis sativa. Cannabidiols have been shown to have a far greater influence on the body than ∆9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the primary psychoactive portion of the cannabis plant, impacting expression of more than 1000 genes, most notably upregulating expression of cellular antioxidant defenses through pathways including Nrf2, a primary regulator of cellular antioxidant production, and downregulating that of many inflammatory chemokines.*

CBD receptors exist widely in the body, being highly expressed in the hippocampus and central nervous system, the immune system, and peripheral nervous system. CBD receptors are strongly stimulated by the endogenous eicosanoid anandamide, whose name is taken from the Sanskrit word ananda, meaning joy or bliss. CBD has been studied for its antiemetic, analgesic, antiepileptic, and immunomodulatory effects.* CBD may act as a neuroprotective antioxidant, with studies demonstrating an effect superior to alpha-tocopherol and ascorbate in preventing glutamate toxicity.*

Available in 30mL and 50mL sizes.

How is Hemp Oil Different Than CBD Oil?

Both hemp oil and CBD (cannabidiol) oil come from the Cannabis sativa plant, but from different strains. Like different varieties of roses, the various strains of Cannabis sativa possess unique properties and contain different amounts of the cannabinoids tetrahydrocannabidiol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).

THC is the primary psychoactive constituent of Cannabis (ie: the part that gets you high), whereas CBD is not psychoactive and possesses powerful medicinal properties.

Hemp oil is derived from the seeds of a strain of Cannabis sativa that has extremely low counts of THC and CBD, whereas CBD oil comes from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of a strain low in THC and high in CBD. Because of their negligible THC content, neither hemp oil nor CBD oil cause euphoria or other psychoactive effects.

Much like the oils derived from coconuts, almonds, and olives, hemp oil has various uses and is rich in nutrients, including omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, vitamin E, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B1, and vitamin B2.
